Eligibility

The 32nd Junior European Open 2024 is open to all junior golfers in the UK as well as other countries.

Age: Boys born after 1/1/2006, Girls born after 1/1/2005.

Junior European Open 18+: For the 8th year running, we will also be running a separate championship for those boys and girls too old to participate in the Junior European Open proper. If you are born before 1/1/2006 (Boys) or before 1/1/2005 (Girls), you are eligible to play in the JEO 18+. You can enter online. Please make sure you enter your date of birth from which we will know you are entering the JEO 18+. If for any reason at all your entry is not accepted, you will receive a full refund. Please note that this year unaccompanied juniors will not be able to take part in the Champions Week Finals.

Handicaps: As this championship is played off Scratch, there is no lower or higher handicap limits.

Entry fee: For the third year running, the entry fee will remain the same and no increase. This year, once again, all players will receive, free of charge, a Tournament Championship Golf Cap.

                    Entry fee at each venue: £59 (no increase in five years)

                    Minimum value of the prizes presented at each of the 45 dates & venues: £3600

Closing date: Entries will be accepted up to the week before each event subject to availability.

Acceptance: If for any reason whatsoever, your entry is not accepted, you will receive a full refund.

Refunds: No cash refunds are possible if you need to change but we will allow a change of date & venue up to the end of 2024

Cancellation: If we cancel an event, we will immediately email all those playing and send them a full refund- we have never cancelled an event in the 32-year history of this event! All changes and cancellations will be announced on our NOTICEBOARD page on our website.

NOTICEBOARD: We have a dedicated page on our website called NOTICEBOARD where all cancellations and/or re-arranged dates & venues will be announced on a daily basis.


Qualification

There are 45 Regional Finals staged all across the UK, Europe and other selected countries from 8th April to 1st November.

At each Regional Final, a minimum of two boys and one girl, with the best gross scores, win and secure their places in the Champions Week Finals in Spain in November. The best net score of the day will win a very special trophy at each qualifier. The top ten best net scores of the year will also make the Champions Week Finals in Spain in November- please see Order of Merit page.


The Champions Week Finals (CWF)

The Champions Week Finals are staged over five rounds Stroke Play, off scratch, played on two of the top courses in Europe.

As part of the prize, in line with the R&A Rules on Amateur Status, the finalists receive the following:

  • Complimentary green fees on the Championship courses (minimum of four rounds)
  • 7-nights accommodation for the Boys in a first class location
  • 8-nights accommodation for the Girls in a first class location
  • Specially commissioned & individually personalised trophies to all the Finalists plus major trophies to the Boys Champion and Girls Champion as well as the second and third
  • The Champions Week Prize Presentation Party.
  • This year unaccompanied juniors will not be able to take part in the CWF
